Important Update: Upcoming Millage Renewal

Dear residents of East Baton Rouge Parish,

On December 10, 2022 you will have the opportunity to vote on a property millage RENEWAL that supports 33% of the EBR Sheriff's Office operating budget. This millage has been in place for the past 28 years since 1994, and is NOT a new or higher tax.

This millage RENEWAL is used for operating expenses such as salaries, benefits and equipment. Almost 75% of our budget goes to personnel and related benefits.

It will be listed on the ballot as the “Law Enforcement District Millage” and will not mention the EBR Sheriff’s Office by name.
